Perspectives

You have heard it said, “All things work together for good for those that love the Lord and who are called according to His purpose.” But not all things feel or even look good from a human perspective. In fact much of what we are called to endure day to day feels bad, or is disappointing, or is boring. So what shall we do? Change your perspective. If life has become a toilsome journey in which your focus is to try to get as much as you can before your foot steps in the grave, change your perspective. If life is a discouragement, and despair fills your heart, and you have lost all hope, change your perspective. If money is your first love, and your world is full of treasures you own, but your heart is broken, change your perspective. If you have become king of your own little kingdom, and you have no need of a Savior, change your perspective.

Let Jesus consume your focus. Let Him fill your every view. Let Him heal you of every hurt. Give Him possession of all you own. I heard it said recently, “we either possess things or we are possessed by things.” I would like to offer a third perspective. Let Jesus possess you and everything you are and own. Let His life flow in and through you. Become a conduit of His love and mercy and grace. Let your perspective be from His point of view. For His point of view is the only one that matters for all of eternity.
